Banquet to honor Garrison's service

Though Coach Cliff Garrison's coaching accomplishnments came to an end last year when he announced his retirement, the accolades and honors that have ensued more than make up for the loss.
Garrison will be inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, and this Saturday Hendrix College will host a banquet in honor of their former championship coach. The luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Hulen Ballroom.
Garrison led the Warriors to a record of 463-377 during his 31 years as head coach and acted as as director of athletics for 19 years.
"This is our way of saying thank you for the service," said Hendrix Athletic Director Danny Powell, Garrison's successor as Athletic Director.
Garrison will be inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame this February 20 as one of the most successful basketball coaches in Arkansas history.
Garrison continues to teach in the kinesiology department along with raising funds for the school.
During his time at Hendrix, coach Garrison befriended many people within the arkansas sports community and other notables.
Some of the most notable sportsfigures in the state will be in attendence.
Coach Garrison's friend and KATV sports personality Paul Eels will emcee the event.
